| Lithographies, that is reproductions from a stone matrix, are much less valuable than prints. This method was invented in Bavaria in 1796, was rapidly employed all over Europe and enjoyed great favour throughout all the XIX century. It was greatly used both for ornamental sheets and for books and magazines. | |||
