CHROMO LITHOGRAPHIES

In the second half of the 19th century the printing processes were much improved from the tecnica point of view and consequently iy was possible to print colour images at low cost. They are known as cromo or chromolithograhies and were mainly destined to women and children.
Cats are among the  most frequent subjects  in this sector and soon  the back of the card will be used  for commercial advertisements.
In the same period another product  is created, which will become extremely popular  until the seventies in the 20th century : the pictures which, loose or collectable in special albums, were sought after by children and boys.
