The themes of the Museum collections of postcards are different and represent cats in all imaginable situations;
in portraits, drawings and photos, in popular traditions , fables and legends, caricatures and satires , in military contexts and greetings:Christmas, Easter, New Year, Valentines, Birthdays, Name days etc.
The role of cats has changed with the times: first it had an educational and pedagogical aim, then it became more and more celebrative and worldly and cats were represented together with beautiful women, children or famous figures.
The Museum owns cards from different origin and cultures and constantly aims at increasing its collections and creating new sections.
The most fascinating parts are surely the German one from the end of the 19th century tot eh first World War and the French one of the first 20 years of the 20th century.
