The postcard first appeared about 1865 : it bore no images and consisted of a simple card, the message was written on the front side (where now is the picture) while on the back were written the address and put the stamps (pre-printed). In the last decade of the XIX century appeared the postcards we know. The Museum owns thousands of postcards representing cats, the most ancient is a chromolithography of 1892. |
